A Pair of AcesWhen casting tiny tots in commercials, TV, or film, having identical twins is a dream come true! If one spitting-image sibling starts to spit up, grab their twin, work with them until they start to fuss, and repeat as necessary! This will only make the production team’s job easier and will save the producers money by allowing for a shorter shoot time—a win for the twins!
For theater roles (especially Broadway and national tours), having twins can also be a big bonus! It’s common to have multiple children sharing the same role to lessen the chance a young performer will wear out. Therefore, having a pair of multiples can certainly make a talent search and a casting director’s job easier. Additionally, in theater, a matching pair of players can be costuming gold! This may not seem like a major advantage, however, a matching set of actors’ heights and body types guarantees that costumes tailored to very narrow specifications will fit both actors
