Mobile ticketing app TodayTix is in the business of westward expansion. Specializing exclusively in mobile ticketing for theatrical hits of Broadway and beyond, coordinating day-of rush sales through theaters’ available lottery systems, TodayTix is changing the way theater lovers purchase tickets.
After building a dedicated user base on New York’s Broadway and Off-Broadway (including the Public Theater) and London’s West End (including the Kenneth Branagh Theater Company), co-founders Merritt Baer and Brian Fenty have opened shop in San Francisco, forming ties with the American Conservatory Theater, among others.
Next stops are reportedly Los Angeles, which already has theater partnerships in beta, and Washington, D.C.
While there was some concern over the app’s success due to theatergoers’ on-average older age with tech sensibilities to match, TodayTix has found a dedicated pool of 650,000 mobile users in New York and London, and hopes to become the one-stop ticketing shop for even more nationwide.
