All right. That’s done. Now let me tell you about my journey.
When Hollywood wears me down, getting out of town is my favorite way to relax. Some people drive out to the ocean or head up to the mountains, but not this guy. I prefer the desert.
Joshua Tree is about three hours east of L.A. The barren landscape always lulls me into a state of deep relaxation. It’s the perfect place to get your head on straight.
After checking into the motel, I headed over to a dusty diner where the owner knows me well. He served up a tasty lunch: rattlesnake burger grilled to perfection, with an ice-cold brew to wash it down. And as I was leaving, he handed me a small pouch.
Later, when I was sitting outside my room, I opened the pouch and found a large brown mushroom inside. That fungus was in my mouth and down my throat in five seconds flat.
I waited a few minutes but nothing happened.
And then a striped wolf appeared by my side. The beast tugged at my sleeve and drew my attention toward the desert. I noticed a solitary figure there about 100 yards out.
Curious, I trudged over and came face
