If you are a social media die-hard you would have realised that many celebrities have continued to wage war on twitter and instagram. It seems 2016 would be another season of ‘Game of Thrones’ , that means every man for himself. 2016 has been very hot with controversies which started with Olamide and Don Jazzy. ANTHONY ADA ABRAHAM captures some of the recent developments.
Peter Okoye alleged cheating with a fan
Peter was recently called out by one of his followers over allegations of cheating. The follower also tagged the girl he allegedly cheated with. A trip to the girl’s page showed that she actually talked about her trip to UK and France, a week before. And last week, while Peter and Eto were in UK on a business trip, she was also there. She also shared a picture of herself with Eto. She returned to USA about the same time Peter and Eto jetted out to Turkey. The comments were made on Peter’s latest IG post but he has since deleted them. But in a twist to the event, the lady claimed to have cheated with him wrote:
“Rumours can be entertainment for some but affect the people they are about. We all have families we love dearly and it is extremely wrong and unfair to link me to someone who is SIMPLY a friend. Krysten Enem VS Burna Boy
TV host, Krysten Enem took to twitter to put Burna Boy on full blast after he stood her up following a scheduled interview .The media personality whose show ‘The Krysten Enem Show’ airs on Africa Magic Urban said she was disappointed in the star for his nonchalant attitude and for taking her and her crew go on a roller coaster ride around Lagos. She even added that that is the reason why most artistes don’t last for more than 2-years because of their behaviour. It’s on! 2016,the year of Drama indeed.
Blackface VS Wizkid/2Face Idibia/Paul Okoye
Nigerian singer and Plantashun Boyz member Blackface entered the ring and took part in the all star celebrity fight. Blackface blasted Wizkid and his former band member 2face on Twitter for taking his songs without his permission. These claims were coming after the Wizkid/Dammy Krane brouhaha. While Wizkid has ignored Blackface, 2face has said he hold no grudge against him. Then said he wonder why someone would continue to accuse people of stealing songs while they are nothing.
Chioma Akpotha Vs Uche Jumbo, Omoni Oboli, Blessing Egbe, Ufuoma MCdermott
This was a brief spat in Nollywood. So Chioma Akpotha made a comment about a picture of Uche Jumbo, Omoni Oboli, Blessing Egbe, and Ufuoma McDermott. It felt like she was taking a shot, and the ladies in questions quickly responded. The next day . Phew… and that’s how a Nollywood female war was averted.

Of course, should we say more. Everyone knows what happened on the first day of the year. The battle between the two record label leaders later morphed into a battle between the fans of the two labels, YBNL/Mavin and awkwardly Mainland vs Island. Thankfully stepped in.
Davido VS The Momodus
The paternity battle between pop star Davido and The Momodus started on December 31, 2015 but it spilled into the New Year. Davido took shots at the mother of his child saying she was unfit to be a mother and was responsible for the traces of marijuana found in his daughter. The Momodus on the other hand claimed Davido’s family kidnapped the baby from her mother Sophie Momodu. The HKN star has on ‘Osinachi’ Remix. Now, the saga will be heard about forever.
Shizzi VS Tunde Ednut
Hit producer Shizzi known for producing Davido’s hit track ‘Dami Duro’ amongst others hit out at singer Tunde Ednut for allegedly stealing his song and instrumental as well. After blasting Tunde Ednut and producer Masterkraft he all the download links of the song. It was promptly taken down.
Dammy Krane Vs Wizkid
In the month of beef and war pop act Dammy Krane accused Wizkid of stealing his concepts and songs. This was not the first time Dammy Krane had accused a fellow artiste of jacking from him. The issue between Wizkid and Dammy Krane left Twitter and went all ‘Hip Hop & Gangsta’ when Wizkid allegedly assaulted Dammy Krane at Quilox night club. The Enterkraner came out of the scuffle with a cut on his lip. at the residence of footballer Obafemi Martins.
The Olumofins VS Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi
The Nigerian celeb wars didn’t get any funnier and realer than the clash between BEAT FM on-air-personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and the Olumofin twins. Gbemi tweeted about certain brothers who loved gate crashing events. The Olumofin twins caught their sub and went to Instagram to on the radio presenter. Hands down this is likely to be one of the celeb stories of 2016.
Wizkid VS Binta Blue Diallo
Pop singer Wizkid has surely been in a lot of trouble in January. Last month it was revealed that Wizkid had allegedly fathered a child with a Guinean woman named Binta Diamond Diallo who stays in America. Despite the baby boy being named after him Wizkid swiftly denied fathering a child. Binta Diamond Diallo fired back by saying that Wizkid is a dead beat dad who has not seen his son. There has been after that.
