Last pilot season was absolutely horrendous. Sharon Stone is doing a pilot? Halle Berry a series on CBS? Yep, and countless other “big name” actors. The middle class actor was almost wiped out. Obliterated. It felt discouraging and bleak.
At this moment right now, I am seeing a change in Hollywood…. This has been the busiest fall that I can remember. That means more auditions, more work, and more opportunities. Bravo TV is doing a scripted show with another on the way, so if you and all your friends aren’t watching to help get those ratings up then you should, or lose your right to complain about reality TV. Just saying, we have opportunities to strengthen ourselves and the amount of roles out there for actors. Now. It’s an amazing time; Netflix, Hulu, and DirecTV are joining the ranks with FX, AMC, HBO, Showtime, and others. Lately, actors have been bringing auditions for channels that I have yet to know about. Now there’s YouTube, Funny or Die, Bubblews, and so many others are places to showcase our Web series, skits, slices of life, creative thoughts, and visions.
