Last May we told you about American premiere at the Smithsonian Institution of the Nollywood historical epic film, "Invasion 1897," by filmmaker Lancelot Oduwa Imaseun, and which is considered the most ambitious film ever made in Nigeria.
The film deals with the invasion of the Benin Kingdom by the British Empire in 1897, and the looting of priceless ancient artifacts of the Benin kingdom, and the repercussions of that tragic event which still resonate today. But the film also deals with the bravery of those who fought back against colonialism and greed.
