The head of the management of Peter Okoye, one of the P-square duo, Olatunde Michaels has debunked the rumour that the brothers have split.
Making this disclosure in a telephone chat with Daily Trust, Michaels refuted the split saying it was just a rumour. He said: “It is just a simple arrangement because P-square still exists. They just have their different managements.”
He added that: “Peter and Paul are doing individual projects, hence their release of new solo songs. So the story about their split as carried by the media is just a rumour. They both have their different record labels. It doesn’t mean they have split.”
To buttress his claim, he said the duo “would be performing together in Netherlands on the 26th of March 2016.”
Meanwhile their fans and some in the entertainment industry have continued to react to the purported split via the social network.
Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, in one of his tweets, said: “So P-square has split into Mr. P and Rude boy? Joining Sound Sultan, Faze, Blackface, African China, Ruggedman as old upcoming artistes.
Others, however, seemed unconcerned about the split as shown in the tweet by Kemi Ariyo who tweeted via @d_problemsolver: “So P-square eventually splits. Na una sabi. Now you have succeeded in destroying your career with your hands. Congratulations.”
Giving it some form of humour, @macdpimp tweeted: “Dear P-square, I can’t buy Paul’s album and Peter’s differently. Nigeria’ economy is bad.”
However, accusing fingers have pointed at the wives of the duo as they are seen as the cause for the alleged rift and drift between the brothers.
“A woman will either add spice or sand to any friendship. The right woman will respect relationship not to interfere any which way #Psquare,” posted a twitter user with the handle @ani_nomso.
Another tweet by @esqajonny read: “Where is that P-square that anced & sang together, when they hustled & suffered together no lady was there but now women separated them.”
