This year marks the 89th birthday (celebrated on February 20th) of a man, a legend who I’m sure needs absolutely no introduction on this website, who overcame decades of stereotypical Hollywood portrayals of black people, and would build a career that would see him become an instrumental figure in the evolution of roles for black actors on screen.
