Former Actors’ Guild of Nigeria president, Ibinabo Fiberesima, was granted bail on Thursday in the sum of N2million and two sureties who are Lagos residents in like sum at the Court of Appeal, Lagos.

An earlier request for bail by the embattled Nollywood star, who was sentenced to five years in prison, was turned down by a three-man panel led by Justice U. I. Ndukwe-Anyanwu, on the grounds that the application was not properly filed when her counsel failed to attach copies of the judgment that was delivered by the court which affirmed the five-year jail sentence imposed on her.

The sentence was passed on March 11 by the Lagos State High Court for reckless driving that resulted in the death of a medical doctor, Giwa Suraj.
