Nollywood stars including Sola Sobowale, Odunlade Adekola, Stephanie Okereke-Linus, Funke Akindele among others are billed to join forces with the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind, Oshodi, Lagos as this year’s May Ball event holds amid pomp tomorrow, at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos. ‘May Ball’ is one of the various activities put together by FNSB not only to solicit support for the visually-impaired persons but also, to draw attention to their plight as well as to entertain Nigerians.
Briefing the press during the week, Sola Sobowale said that “living outside the country for over fifteen years has made me realize that we live in a society where physically-challenged persons are abruptly neglected and abandoned.
I know Nigerians love Sola Sobowale so much, and I asked myself what do I give back to Nigerians, and here I am. I am here to associate with those with special needs and also, to support them and make them proud.
” Also, speaking at the event, the Chairman, Executive Council of the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind, Asiwaju Fola Osibo explained that the fun-filled event will not only be used to solicit support for the students of the Vocational Training Centre,VTC, Oshodi but to also give them the opportunity to showcase their talents.
