A smashing new song has been composed by high-life maestro and Glo Ambassador, Chinedu Okoli aka Flavour for a new social satire TV series, Professor Johnbull, sponsored by grand-masters of data, Globacom.
The song which has become an instant hit in the south eastern part of the country will be used as the sound track for the new TV series.
The four-minute sound track succinctly sums up the series which revolves around the main character, Prof. Johnbull. Nollywood legend, Kanayo O. Kanayo, played the part. The song draws attention to the extravagant use of grandiose language by the professor.
It summarizes the plot and storyline and repeatedly hails the Professor who had travelled round the world, acquiring knowledge and enlarging his vocabulary.
The sound track is a signature Flavour urban high-life music style and was rendered in Igbo language. It robustly eulogises Professor John Bull.
Produced by one of Nollywood’s best, Tchidi Chikere, at the instance of Globacom, the series alao has leading Nollywood veteran Richard Mofe-Damijo as consultant.
The soundtrack which showcased the cast such as Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor (Mama G), Yomi Fash Lanso, Chiwetalu Agu, Bimbo Akintola, Mercy Johnson, Ime Bishop, Queen Nwokoye, and several other top Nollywood stars and Glo Ambassadors is currently ruling the airwaves particularly in the South East and South South part of the country.
The song is currently being aired massively on radio stations in Akwa-Ibom, Rivers, Delta, Enugu, Ebonyin, Anambra, Abia, and Imo states.
According to the lead character in the drama series, Kanayo O. Kanayo, the sound track is perfect, adding that “the sound track for this TV series is just apt and awesome. In-fact, I was marveled when I listened to it. It just summarizes what the drama series is about. It encapsulates the story-line”.
Ace producer, Tchidi Chikere, who produced and directed the new TV series, stated that Flavour’s style and genre of music gave the na’bania crooner the opportunity to compose the song specially for Globacom. Chikere said “It’s a beautiful one by Flavour, it’s a song you would want to listen to over and over again anytime of the day”.
